Theraphi at CHI

Theraphi uses a pair of illuminated plasma tubes positioned near the body. Cohn Health Institute lists it within the wellness therapies department. The Institute’s service description identifies the paired tubes and the field produced by the equipment as the basis of the approach.

The tubes are the most recognizable part of the device. They remain separate from the body; this is not an injection, a massage tool pressed into tissue, or an electrode patch attached to the skin. Its placement and equipment distinguish it from other services in the department.

What plasma means in this setting

Here, plasma is a physical state of matter. It is different from blood plasma. The U.S. Department of Energy explains that plasma contains charged particles formed when electrons separate from atoms. The resulting mixture includes positively charged ions and negatively charged electrons and can conduct electricity.

That definition explains the kind of material involved in a plasma device. It does not establish a medical effect. The physics of producing plasma and the clinical question of what a particular device does for a patient are separate subjects.

The developer’s Theraphi equipment description identifies glass tubes containing noble gas. When operating, the device produces the illuminated plasma seen in photographs. The developer describes an electrical field around the arrangement, with the paired tubes forming part of that system.

How the tubes are arranged

Theraphi’s published setup description shows adjustable spacing and positioning of the tubes near a seated or reclining person. The tubes are aimed toward the selected area without touching it. Placement is therefore part of the method, rather than the device functioning as an ordinary room light.

The developer instructs users not to touch the tubes or high-voltage wires and warns against use around implanted electronic devices. These are reasons for a supervised equipment setup and a suitability discussion before a session. The setup description is not a home-use guide, and this page does not prescribe spacing, exposure time, or treatment frequency.

The room and the appointment

The Institute’s April 2022 introduction to Theraphi describes a private-room appointment lasting 30 minutes to one hour. Patients remain comfortably clothed and have time to themselves during the visit. This gives a more concrete picture of the setting: the service is arranged around resting near the equipment, rather than receiving a hands-on treatment throughout the appointment.

That description is useful when planning time at the office, but it is a dated account of the service. Confirm the current appointment length when booking. The time reserved for a visit also should not be treated as an instruction to run the equipment continuously for that period. Equipment exposure and total appointment time are different details, and this page does not set an operating protocol.

Phones and other electronics

The same Institute article directs patients to leave cellphones outside the room or place them in a Faraday bag provided by the office. The instruction concerns protecting electronics around the equipment. A visit therefore includes a practical step that may be unfamiliar: arranging where your phone will stay before the session begins.

Plan to finish any necessary messages beforehand and follow the staff’s current instructions for the room. The source does not establish that any ordinary pouch offers the same protection as the bag it describes. Nor should a bag instruction for a phone be applied to medical electronics worn on or implanted in the body.

Implanted electronic devices

The Institute identifies pacemakers and other internal electrical devices as contraindications to Theraphi. The developer gives a similar warning about entering the device’s field with implanted electronics. This is more specific than a general request to share medical history: patients with those devices should not proceed with a Theraphi session.

The private-room description does not mean patients should position or adjust the equipment themselves. Staff should explain the setup and how to request assistance before the session starts.

How it differs from other services

Theraphi has a distinct place in the Institute’s wellness therapies directory. The directory lists Trifecta Light separately. The presence of visible light in both services does not mean they use the same equipment or method, and information about one cannot automatically explain the other.

Microcurrent uses low-level electrical stimulation delivered through contacts at the skin. Theraphi instead uses the nearby plasma-tube arrangement described above. An ionic footbath has a different setup again: saltwater and electrodes within a basin. These differences explain why the directory gives the services their own names and descriptions.

Expectations and evidence

Theraphi’s developer describes the approach as experimental and reports benefits in anecdotal terms. Personal reports can describe an experience but do not establish a treatment effect or a predictable result. The equipment description should not be read as proof of cancer treatment, disease reversal, or rejuvenation. Those claims are not established by the sources used here.

Before booking, discuss the intended purpose of the session and any implanted devices or other relevant medical history. The provider should explain the actual equipment and instructions used for your visit. Contact Cohn Health Institute to discuss current Theraphi appointments and how the service fits into your existing care.
